METASA is present in P55

The effectiveness in the supply of steel structures by Metasa to customers of the oil and gas segment has been assuring its participation in the development proposed by the Brazilian economy, as for the implantation of new offshore platforms.

The entrance of Metasa in this segment was in 2005 through the supply of steel structures for the project PRA-1 of 400 tons. Therefore soon it was the platform P53 with 4.200t, more recently P56 with 1.050t and since November/2008 Metasa is supplying in several contracts, structures for platform P57 adding 2.300 tons. Continuing in projects of this area, it happened on March 04, in the industrial park of Marau/RS, event with the participation of the customers IESA Óleo & Gas and PNBV-PETROBRAS NETHERLANDS B.V., celebrating the beginning of the production of the steel structures modules M04 and M09 from Plataforma P55.

Those modules will be assembled in the Estaleiro WTorres, in Rio Grande/RS. They will be installed in the semi-submergible platform P-55, phase 3 of Roncador Site in sheet of water of 1.800m, with production capacity of 180.000 barrels a day and 6 million m³ of gas.

The module M04 refers to the module that will have the capacity of compression of 6,00mm nm3/d. M04 is constituted by a series of equipments of great load, motor-compressors units, pressure vases, changing of heat and other equipments that supply support for the operation of the main equipments.

The module M09 will have the capacity to treat 2.000 m³/h of water. That module refers the sulfate removal. It was projected for the system of injection of water, that is a new process adopted by Petrobrás with the purpose of increasing the volume of extracted Petroleum of the Site.

The participation of Metasa in this stage, with the supply of the structures for the modules M04 and M09 should be concluded until the month of August, however, the expectation of the participation exists in the construction of the other modules of this platform.
