Metasa Employees See the Results of Their Work at Caracol Park

Seeing up close a project you were part of is an experience that turns professional pride into emotion. With that purpose in mind, on October 10 Metasa S.A. organized a visit for 15 employees to the Caracol Park Lookout in Canela (RS), home to Corajoso, a structure suspended 170 meters high and produced by the company.
The professionals were selected through a corporate culture initiative that seeks to bring employees closer to the results of the work done every day at Metasa.
For the construction of the project, Metasa fabricated 190 metric tons of steel structures, contributing to a work that combines innovation, bold architecture and high technical complexity. The fabricated elements include cantilevered beams that extend up to 16 meters over the cliff, supporting areas that house a walkway, a glass floor and a café with a privileged view of the famous Caracol Waterfall.
Seeing the results of their own work
The adventure that began in Marau: for Manuel Alberto Bermudez, a tack welder in the Welded Parts Preparation area, who has been with the company for one year and five months, the initiative is a demonstration of care for people.
“I am very happy that Metasa thinks about taking care of its employees and of me. Most companies don't think about taking care of people, but Metasa does,” said Manuel, who also expressed thanks for the opportunity to visit a place he had never been to before.
The visit also surprised Luciane Elisabete Souza, a production scheduler in the Assembly area, who has worked at Metasa for three years and ten months. For her, seeing the project made it possible to grasp a dimension of the work that is not always visible in day-to-day work.
“It went far beyond what I imagined. We are often working without a sense of the full picture, of where our work ends up. It's sensational; it exceeded my expectations. It goes much further,” she said.
An achievement to remember
With 31 years at Metasa, training instructor Fernando Giollo also found the visit moving. For him, seeing the finished structure, knowing he took part in a project that went from paper to reality, is a source of pride.
“It was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. It's a project we built, and seeing it finished is incredible,” he said.
The sense of accomplishment was shared by Abel Assunção, warehouse supervisor, who has been with the company for 19 years. For him, seeing the public enjoying a space built with Metasa's participation makes the experience even more special.
“It's really great to see our work finished and people enjoying and having fun with something we built together, back at Metasa. It's an immense joy to see my colleagues having fun, to be here on behalf of the company and to see in person a project we worked on,” he said.
Engineering, innovation and safety
The complexity of the project required engineering solutions capable of ensuring the structure's performance and visitor comfort. To meet this challenge, the engineering team carried out advanced dynamic analyses of the cantilevered areas, helping ensure stability, comfort and safety for visitors.
Designed by the Índio da Costa firm and executed by Nexus Engenharia e Construções, the project combines bold architecture, innovation and significant technical and geotechnical challenges, standing as an example of engineering's ability to turn ideas into memorable experiences.
For the employees, seeing the results of this work made the visit even more special: it was a chance to see how technical knowledge, dedication and collaboration become a structure that delights visitors and defines the landscape of Canela.
People who build futures
The initiative reinforces Metasa's commitment to valuing its professionals and to its purpose: Talent to build safer futures.
More than visiting a project, the employees were able to recognize the value of their own contribution and experience the pride of being part of great achievements. After all, behind every structure are people, talents and stories that help build futures and deserve to be valued.
