Metasa 50 Years: Half a Century of Innovation, People and Development in Marau
Published on

In 2025, Metasa celebrates 50 years of history, reaffirming its role as one of Rio Grande do Sul's leading industries and as a living part of the economic and social development of Marau and the entire region.
Founded with an entrepreneurial vision and an innovative spirit, Metasa has grown alongside the transformations of the market, the industry and Brazilian society itself. Throughout these 50 years, it has upheld one non-negotiable value: evolving without losing its roots.
The origins: where it all began
Founded in December 1975, Metasa was born from the entrepreneurial vision of Antônio Roso, who saw steel and industry as a promising path for the economic development of the country and the region.
“At that time, there was a lot of talk that wood would one day run out in Brazil. Steel seemed to be the future, since the country has abundant ore. Based on that vision, we founded Metasa in December 1975,” recalls Antônio Roso.
The beginning was simple, marked by a lean structure and a great deal of direct involvement from the founders. “We started with windows, doors and metalwork services. I took care of management and the other partners handled the hands-on work,” he recalls.
These humble origins, combined with adaptability and strategic vision, shaped the company's culture and still guide its decisions today.
People at the center of the strategy
Throughout its history, Metasa has built more than steel structures. It has built careers, opportunities and life stories. Generations of professionals have helped turn the company into a benchmark, taking the name of Marau to different markets and regions of the country.
Investment in professional qualification, development programs and technical training, such as educational partnerships and initiatives for young apprentices, reinforces Metasa's commitment to the future of work and to sustainable industry.
Innovation, responsibility and a focus on the future
Over the decades, Metasa has had to reinvent itself to remain competitive in a constantly changing market. Diversification, investment in professional qualification and entry into highly complex segments have marked this process.
“To remain competitive, we diversified our operations and invested heavily in professionalizing our people. We began continuously training welders, engineers and technical teams,” explains Antônio Roso.
Today, the company works on large, high-value projects in segments such as oil and gas, pulp, data centers and major industrial works.
Under the leadership of CEO Cristhine Fuga Roso, Metasa is entering a new cycle of consolidation and strategic planning. “I took over as Superintendent Director in 2022 with the challenge of leading the company through a time of transformation, strengthening governance, clarity of purpose and strategies aligned with the industry's current challenges,” the CEO says.
This direction reinforces Metasa's practices aligned with ESG principles, with attention to environmental and social impact and corporate governance.
The 50 Years celebration: memory and belonging
Metasa's 50 Years celebration was designed as a moment of gathering, recognition and belonging. Held in Marau, it brought together employees, leaders and guests for an evening that revisited memories, honored careers and looked ahead to the next chapters of the company's history.
More than a party, the event symbolized the strength of a brand built collectively, marked by solid relationships, pride in belonging and a long-term vision.
An impact that goes beyond the factory walls
Metasa's role goes beyond industrial production. The company is an active agent in the economic and social development of Marau and the region, contributing to job creation, strengthening the supply chain and supporting initiatives that promote quality of life and local development.
Over 50 years, Metasa has become part of the city's identity, positively influencing the lives of thousands of people, directly and indirectly.
A legacy always under construction
Celebrating half a century means recognizing achievements, thanking those who have been and remain part of this journey, and renewing commitments. Metasa keeps moving forward, with the solidity of a company that knows its past and the courage of one that invests in the future.
May the coming years continue to be written with innovation, responsibility, people at the center and pride in being part of the history of Marau, of Rio Grande do Sul's industry and of Brazil's development.
