Metasa Takes Part in Building the World's Largest Pulp and Paper Boiler

Metasa is honored to take part in fabricating the world's largest pulp recovery boiler, for the Arauco Sucuriú Project in the city of Inocência, Mato Grosso do Sul, in partnership with Valmet.

This month, erection of the recovery boiler began, with approximately 11,000 metric tons of steel structures supplied by Metasa. This milestone was made possible by completing the fabrication stages and delivering more than 20% of the structures to the site.

Once completed, Arauco's project will be considered the largest pulp mill in the world. It represents an investment of US$4.6 billion (about R$25 billion), with an annual production capacity of 3.5 million metric tons of short-fiber pulp.

The building will be approximately 100 meters high and will house what will become a global benchmark in innovation, technology and sustainability.

On a 3,500-hectare industrial site, with the delivery of large components such as Top Beams weighing more than 204 metric tons, Metasa reaffirms its leadership in building steel structures for the pulp industry and reinforces its commitment to quality, to its clients' trust and to Brazil's development — raising structures that drive the country's future.
