Project with Metasa Steel Structures Earns Worldwide Recognition

A major project for which Metasa supplied steel structures has been recognized as the pulp industry's worldwide “Project of the Year” by the Project Management Institute.

According to the Rio Grande do Sul press, the expansion of Celulose Riograndense in Guaíba is considered the largest private investment in the state's recent history, and this was the first time the Project Management Institute selected a project from Latin America for the award. The expansion was recognized for quadrupling production while reducing its environmental footprint. The company's president told the media what earned the new plant its distinction: greater energy self-sufficiency (it generates 80% of the energy it needs); a 60% reduction in water consumption, even after quadrupling output; and recycling of 99.8% of solid waste. The Metasa team is proud to have taken part in the expansion of Celulose Riograndense!
